QUALCOMM Incorporated manufactures digital wireless communications equipment. The Company licenses its code division multiple access (CDMA) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing access intellectual property to other companies and produces CDMA-based integrated circuits, as well as equipment and software used to track workers, assets, and software for wireless content enablement.
Bullish Outlook
Qualcomm is the clear market leader in wireless chips, with a leading market share position in 4G LTE chipsets and relationships with every prominent smartphone maker. It is also a leader in 5G technology with 30 plus commercial 5G mobile design wins based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 and X50 modem offerings.
Additionally, Qualcomm also recently announced the Snapdragon 8cx 5G, a commercial 5G PC Platform, featuring Snapdragon X55 5G modem, which is currently sampling to customers and is expected to be in commercial devices in late 2019. The company has suffered from weak smartphone demand in China, however we are comfortable with Qualcomm’s forward guidance thanks to these latest Snapdragon processors which are set to be featured in upcoming flagship devices.
